What is Targel Plus?

Product Features:
  • Superior sand suspension for uniform application
  • Added resistance to gasoline, fuel, and oils
  • Rubberizes pavement sealer for increased scuff resistance and reduced power steering marks
  • Speeds up drying time of pavement sealer
  • Sealer dries to a blacker color
Mixing the Sealcoating Material:
With agitator turning, to the predetermined amount of sealer, add water, then add TARGEL PLUS (dilute TARGEL PLUS 1:1 with water prior to addition). Add sand slowly and mix until homogenous.
Suggested Formula Range:
Add 2 to 4 gallons of TARGEL PLUS to 100 gallons of concentrate pavement sealer. Add water and sand per manufacturer’s recommendation.
Formulation Tips:
Based on the above starting formulations and job requirements, the best TARGEL PLUS formulation is the one that works best for your crew, your environment, and the weather and pavement conditions.
Generally:
  • More TARGEL PLUS will result in a thicker more viscous sealcoating material
  • More sand will thicken the mixture
  • For optimum pavement sealer performance do not exceed 8 lbs. of sand per gallon
  • More sealer will thicken the mixture
  • More water will thin the mixture
Application Tips:
On hot days, fog spraying with water is highly recommended to facilitate coverage and improve performance of the finished application. When fog spraying, dampen the pavement, but do not leave puddles. Application can be by squeegee, brush, self-propelled squeegee machine, or spray equipment capable of spraying sealer with sand. A second coat can be applied as soon as the first coat will take traffic without scuffing. For best results, apply a third coat of pavement sealer modified with TARGEL PLUS over high traffic areas such as entrances, exit, and drive lanes. Do not apply pavement sealer when the temperature is expected to drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit in a 24 hour period.
