8/7/2017 1 Comment What is FASS-DRI?FASS-DRI is the latest advancement in NANO-CURE Technology for both asphalt and coal tar based pavement sealers. NANO-CURE Technology enable pavement sealer to dry from the bottom up as opposed to skinning over and trapping moisture within the film. FASS-DRI drives moisture out resulting in rapid curing as well as a drying of the pavement sealer film. Pavement sealer containing FASS-DRI is ready for traffic in practically no time. Fortified with sand suspension additive (SSA) providing DUAL ACTION PERFORMANCE! (Fast cure and Sand Suspension) FASS-DRI enables you to complete jobs faster and stripe parking lots quicker. Can be used with spray squeegee, or brush applications. Helps reduce sand roll-out. Reduces tracking and power steering marks. Less filter and tip clogging.
FASS-DRI provides these additional benefits: -A better working, more viscosity controlled sealer over a very broad range of sand loading and dilution rates. -A mix with no flocculating or conglomerating of the sealer. -The one additive you can use to meet almost any customer’s needs. -An extended sealer season with more satisfied customers. How do you use FASS-DRI? Suggested Formula Range: Add 2 gallons of FASS-DRI to 100-150 gallons of concentrate pavement sealer. Add water and sand per manufacturer’s recommendation. Formulation Tips: Based on the above starting formulations and job requirements, the best FASS-DRI formulation is the one that works best for your crew, your equipment, and the weather and pavement conditions. Generally: -More FASS-DRI will shorten the curing and drying time -Up to a point, more FASS-DRI will result in a thicker, more viscous sealcoating material. Past that point, more FASS-DRI will actually thin the mixture. The point at which this happens varies according to the reactivity of the sealer. -More sand will thicken the mixture -More sealer will thicken the mixture -More water will thin the mixture. Too much water can cause handling or drying time problems. Mixing the Sealcoating Material: To the predetermined amount of Sealer, add water, then add the well mixed FASS-DRI additive and begin agitation. While continuing agitation, add the sand slowly. There is no need to pre-dilute the FASS-DRI. It may be advisable to reserve part of the planned dilution water to thing the mixture if necessary while keeping it from being too thin to start. Application Tips: Fog spraying is highly recommended to facilitate coverage and improve performance of the finished application. When fog spraying, dampen the pavement but do not leave puddles. Application can be by squeegee, brush, self-propelled squeegee machine, or spray equipment capable of spraying sealer with sand. A second coat can be applied as soon as the first coat will take traffic without scuffing. After the second coat, test for trafficability before opening the pavement to regular use. A FASS-DRI modified sealcoat should not be applied when the ambient temperature or the pavement temperature are expected to drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit within a 24-hour period.

Nano cure technology is not something that I thought was possible. If you ask me, this type of technology is something that you can only see in fiction movies, at least that is what I thought at first. I heard that there are still many things that needs to be done before we can implement it, and I am really excited. I wish to be part of it in the future. Medical technology is on the rise, we might even cure cancer.
